A 57-year-old wheelchair user was rescued from a precarious position on the Nepomuk Bridge in Sigmaringen today. The woman was in danger of falling into the Danube after her wheelchair got stuck on a slope, with half of it hanging over the embankment. She clung to a metal post to prevent slipping further.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, involving two fire trucks, two ambulances, an emergency doctor, and a police patrol. The woman received rapid assistance, which police later emphasized was fortunate. Rescue teams worked swiftly to free her from her perilous position. The exact cause of the incident remains unclear, but authorities suspect it may have been due to a maneuvering error.

The woman was eventually freed from her dangerous situation and is now receiving medical attention. Authorities remind the public to take extra care when maneuvering wheelchairs or other mobility aids on potentially hazardous terrains.
