On November 24, the wait for ski jumping enthusiasts finally comes to an end. That's when the World Cup opener kicks off in Ruka, Finland. And the best part is that ARD and ZDF will be broadcasting the competitions live on free-to-air TV for the season.

Ruka, here we come!

Kick off the season with two individual competitions in Ruka, Finland. On November 24, the qualification rounds will commence, followed by the first individual competition on the large hill on November 25. On Sunday, November 26, there will be the second competition, another individual competition on the big hill.

Contenders to Watch

Last season, Norway's Halvor Egner Granerud (27) claimed the overall World Cup with a crystal globe in tow for the second time since 2020/21. Poland's Dawid Kubacki (33) positioned himself second, and Austria's Stefan Kraft (30) rounded out the podium.

German fans have their hopes pinned on Andreas Wellinger (28) and Karl Geiger (30). Wellinger came in sixth place, while Geiger finished in eleventh place in the overall rankings, showing promising performances.

Ski Jumping on TV and the Experts

ARD and ZDF take turns broadcasting the World Cups live on free-to-air TV and show the competitions as a stream in the media libraries.

At ZDF, Lena Kesting (29) will take over the moderation of the ski jumping broadcasts. She will be joined by new expert Severin Freund (35).

At ARD, Lea Wagner (29) will continue her role as moderator, accompanied by expert Sven Hannawald (48).
