Instagram Influencer's Superyacht Adventure
Three years into his journey sharing incredulous boat pics, Instagram's denizen behind the handle @theyachtmogul decided to dive headfirst into superyacht design, collaborating with Bhushan Powar Design Studio.
The pair worked on a stunning project named after the influencer's account: The Mogul. Boasting a whopping 295 feet of height, The Mogul boasts a one-of-a-kind, 26-foot-long infinity pool, a spacious owner's suite, and a private whirlpool—all with panoramic views and direct access to a fully functional helipad.
"Many yachts aren't all that pretty," the Instagrammer shared with CNN Travel. "I aimed to create something desirable, maybe even entice people to build it. I wanted to innovate."
Catering to a market filled with thousands of yachts, Mogul distinguishes itself by prioritizing the living quarters of the owner.
"On most yachts, you can't even find the owner's suite," Suka explained. "But on Mogul, owners can sail and enjoy a 180-degree view. I can visualize that breathtaking look when I wake up."
The exquisite vessel boasts a large swimming deck, a beach lounge, and tender garages on both sides to accommodate plenty of watersports equipment.
Suka presented his design ideas to Bhushan Powar Design Studio last year, and the creative process took roughly six to seven months. Suka was pleased with the results, pouring his heart and soul into the project—after all, it bears his name.
The Mogul's estimated cost ranges between 180 and 200 million US dollars, and Suka has since received a multitude of positive responses from potential buyers. He's even had discussions with other designers and naval engineers to further develop the project.
Ultra-demand for bespoke yachts
Worldwide yacht figures have grown significantly since 2009, when the global fleet counted 3,906 vessels. According to The Superyacht Group, that number reached 5,646 yachts by 2019. Despite a slight market dip in 2020 due to the pandemic, BOAT Pro reports a revival in December, with 341 superyacht sales.
As the yacht industry expands, staying one step ahead of the trend becomes essential. Designers must create groundbreaking and aesthetically pleasing yachts to stand out from the sea of competitors.
Dozens of innovative superyacht concepts—like Mogul—are queued to launch over the coming years, with Lazzarini Design Studio and VOM Creations leading the charge.
Emerging multimillionaire yacht enthusiasts
When Suka moved to Monaco in 2018, he'd noticed a trend toward bolder, more innovative yacht designs. And with each passing day, he anticipated this pattern to only grow.
"In just a few years, I believe we won't see designs like Mogul anymore," Suka said. "Younger buyers will be interested in more futuristic designs. We'll see designs more akin to spaceships."
Suka, whose Instagram account has opened several doors in the yacht world, remains focused on creating groundbreaking design concepts while still serving as a yacht broker.
"I'll continue driving projects until one gets built," Suka added. "Regardless of my other endeavors, Instagram comes first. That's how I got here."
Known as "Yacht Tycoon" on the platform, Suka makes every effort to diversify his yacht world involvement, thinking of his Instagram account as the springboard that brought him to new heights.
