Rebel Mayor's Downfall: LDPR's Warnings Unheard

The Mayor's ArrestVladislav Loginov, a mayor whose resignation the party demanded last year, was nabbed, carted off for questioning to the Investigative Committee, and is now on his way to Moscow. The LDPR declares that had their alarms been heeded earlier, the city would have dodged a barrage of scandals and debacles.

"Our pleas for checks into city hall's schemes were ignored. Now the inquisition has uncovered what we've seen for a while," Alexei Boikov, LDPR's faction leader in the regional parliament, stressed.

He reminded us that the LDPR had repeatedly pointed out the city's gloomy state: the tramway reform debacle (the "Movistroy" contract resulted in lawsuits instead of new tracks and carriages); the meltdown of waste management and the administrative chaos in Solnechnoy; rampant corruption in road contracts and managing companies; and the chaotic construction in abandoned, dilapidated buildings.

"Residents have complained for years, but instead of solutions, they received excuses. Today's arrest - a matter of time. The question is, why didn't this happen sooner?" Semen Senderskiy, head of the LDPR faction in the city council, asserted, teasing an inquiry among Krasnoyarsk residents about the city's administration.

The LDPR urges for a complete overhaul of power in Krasnoyarsk to put an end to the city serving as a playground for failed experiments and corruption schemes.

Now that Mayor Vladislav Loginov has been arrested, the party questions why action wasn't taken sooner, given the recurring crime-and-justice issues in general-news."
