West Indies Suffers Defeat in T20 Series; England Triumphs
In a thrilling encounter at the Seat Unique Stadium in Bristol, England clinched a series-leading 2-0 victory against West Indies, winning the second T20I by four wickets.
West Indies, after being put to bat first, posted a challenging total of 196-6, thanks to Shai Hope's resilient 49 off 38 balls and cameos from Jason Holder (29 off 9) and Rovman Powell (34 off 15). Luke Wood, returning to international cricket after a year and a half, impressed with his bowling figures of 2-25.
England's run chase started off promisingly, with Jamie Smith and Ben Duckett forming a 63-run partnership. However, a brief hiccup saw England lose two wickets in quick succession, leaving them needing 85 runs to secure victory.
The resilient English side, led by the bat of Jos Buttler (47 off 36) and Jacob Bethell (26 off 10), managed to pull off a nail-biting win with nine balls to spare. Bethell played a crucial role, hitting back-to-back sixes, while Tom Banton finished the match unbeaten on 30 runs from 11 deliveries, sealing the win.
Adil Rashid conceded 31 runs in his last over for England, adding to the tension in the final stages of the match.
With this win, England has taken a strong lead in the series, leaving West Indies' Captain Shai Hope to aim for a comeback in the final match. The third and deciding T20I is scheduled for later this week.
