England Announce Squads for Upcoming ODI and T20 Series Against West Indies

England has announced the squads for their upcoming one-day international (ODI) and T20 series against the West Indies.

In the ODI series, Harry Brook will captain the team, with Jos Buttler, Tom Banton, Jacob Bethell, Brydon Carse, Ben Duckett, Tom Hartley, Will Jacks, Saqib Mahmood, Jamie Overton, Matthew Potts, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Jamie Smith, and Luke Wood as his teammates. The series, which consists of three matches, will start on Thursday, May 29 at Edgbaston.

The first ODI will take place on May 29 at Edgbaston, with the second ODI occurring on June 1 at Cardiff, and the third ODI taking place on June 3 at The Kia Oval. All ODIs will start at 13:00 BST except the first, which will start at d/n (day-night).

In the T20 series, Brook will also captain the team. Rehan Ahmed, Tom Banton, Jacob Bethell, Jos Buttler, Brydon Carse, Liam Dawson, Ben Duckett, Will Jacks, Saqib Mahmood, Jamie Overton, Matthew Potts, Adil Rashid, Phil Salt, and Luke Wood will join him. The first T20 match will take place on June 6 at Seat Unique Riverside, Chester-le-Street.

The second T20 match will occur on June 8 at Seat Unique Stadium, Bristol, and the third T20 will take place on June 10 at Utilita Bowl, Southampton. All T20 matches will start at 18:30 BST except the second, which will start at 14:30 BST.

Fast bowler Gus Atkinson is not participating in the upcoming one-day international series against the West Indies due to a hamstring injury. He is, however, expected to be available for the five-match Test series against India starting on 20 June at Headingley. Josh Tongue was named as the replacement for Atkinson in England's squad for the T20 series against the West Indies.

Jofra Archer is also ruled out of the series due to a thumb injury incurred during the Indian Premier League (IPL).

England's chances of qualifying for the 2027 World Cup depend on their performance in the upcoming one-day series. As of now, England and the West Indies are ranked 8th and 9th respectively in the ODI rankings.

Harry Brook is leading England for the first time in white-ball formats in the upcoming one-day series against the West Indies. This series presents an excellent opportunity for Brook to showcase his leadership skills and guide England to a successful series win.
