We're untouchable!

Authoritarian rule undermines fundamental liberties, threatens critical civic organizations, infringes upon worker's rights, and endangers the social safety net.

In the heart of Germany, a group known as The Interventionist Left Frankfurt am Main has been vocal for over a decade, fighting against militarism and fascism. They invite people to join their anti-militarist action camp from August 26 to 31.

Their stance is clear: the war regime is not just a government focused on war and interventionism, but a destructive force that attacks already achieved gains, resistant behavior, and social struggles. Wars, they argue, are never fought in the interest of human rights or liberation; instead, they are a war against social struggles and grassroots movements.

The war regime, according to The Interventionist Left, serves multiple purposes. It secures scarce resources, reorganizes global trade routes, and neocolonial power relations. It homogenizes and disciplines within, suppressing social contradictions and struggles under the banner of national unity.

The border does not run between nations and fronts, but between us who die in the wars and those who profit from them. This is evident in the ongoing conflicts in countries like Iran, Palestine, and Ukraine, where the struggle for economic interests and the international order is being fought.

The discourse is becoming more authoritarian, with individuals being demanded to be "war-ready," any dissent being labeled as "naive," events being canceled, demos and slogans being branded as anti-Semitic and banned, and the corridor of debate narrowing. The Interventionist Left points to the autumn of 2023, when the repression and interventions of the traffic light government targeted the Palestine-solidarity movement, resulting in massive restrictions on freedom of expression, assembly, and access to citizenship.

In Germany, the limit on arms exports has been lifted, the debate on conscription has been heated up, and security and rearmament are promised on election posters. Companies like VW are increasingly focusing on military equipment, and the stocks of Rheinmetall & Co. are booming. A securely right-wing extremist party has the possibility of taking power in a state that is likely to be heavily armed in the next election.

The military logic of thinking is increasingly evident in Germany, with the expansion of the Bundeswehr and police, despite the exposure of right-wing to right-extremist networks in these institutions. This is not just a German issue; the international order established after World War II is collapsing, and no one seems to have an idea for its stabilization.

The Interventionist Left proposes a solution: desert, collectively refusing to be integrated into the war regime. They call for engagement in all struggles where the expansion of the authoritarian war regime is at stake. Their antifascism must become antimilitarist, and their antimilitarism must be antifascist.

On June 13, 2025, Israeli bombs hit Evin Prison in Tehran, reportedly killing over 70 regime prisoners. Following the Israeli attacks, the Iranian regime launched a crackdown on critics. This is a stark reminder of the devastating impact of the war regime, not just on nations and fronts, but on individuals and their fundamental rights.

The Interventionist Left's call to action is a clarion call for all who believe in peace, justice, and democracy. Join them in their fight against the war regime, and together, let's build a world where wars are a thing of the past.
