Werder Bremen Goalkeeper is Footballer of the Year in Estonia - Werder Bremen Goalkeeper is Footballer of the Year in Estonia
Karl Hein, the Werder Bremen goalkeeper, has been named Estonia’s Footballer of the Year. The 22-year-old received the award in Tallinn after a strong season on loan in Germany. His performances have also earned him a regular spot in the Estonian national team since 2020.
Hein joined Werder Bremen on loan last summer. Before that, he spent the previous season with Real Valladolid, another loan spell from Arsenal. The Premier League club still holds his transfer rights.
So far, he has made two Bundesliga appearances for Bremen. Both came in high-profile matches: one against Bayern Munich and the other against FC St. Pauli. The award ceremony took place in Estonia’s capital, recognising his contributions both at club and international level. Hein has been a key figure for his country since making his senior debut four years ago.
The recognition comes as Hein continues to develop on loan from Arsenal. His performances in Germany and for Estonia have strengthened his reputation. The goalkeeper remains under contract with the London club, who will monitor his progress closely.
