Wendy Williams Mentioned in Explanation of Chrisleys' TV Show changes Post Todd and Julie's Release by an Inside Source

The Chrisley family seems to be making a triumphant return to TV, following years after their USA Network show, Chrisley Knows Best, was abruptly cancelled. Their fresh venture, yet to be named, has been greenlit by Lifetime and is shaping up nicely, but a surprising twist has unfolded - the power couple at the helm, Todd and Julie, have recently been sprung from prison after receiving a pardon. A sneaky insider graced People magazine with the scoop, even dropping the name of media personality Wendy Williams in the process.

The upcoming reality series, announced towards the end of May, is set to star Savannah Chrisley and her siblings, Chase, Gryason, Chloe, and their grandmother, Nanny Faye. The series will focus on the youngins' personal lives and their struggles to navigate their parents' extended absences – a portion of which is now moot thanks to Todd and Julie's freedom. However, it seems the creatives behind the show are taking this fluidly, likely because of former talk show host Wendy Williams.

Remember Wendy Williams? Her docuseries, Where is Wendy Williams?, was a four-part exploration of her life in the aftermath of her eponymous show's cancellation, delving into her health struggles and her guardianship. Production on that series had its fair share of adjustments as it progressed, eventually sparking controversy among some viewers who found it exploitative and hard to watch. Some of her former producers even voiced their concerns, while the EPs behind the docuseries insisted that Williams was okay with the end result.

The Chrisleys' situation, however, is decidedly different. In late May, news broke of Todd and Julie's pardons – an exciting revelation for daughter Savannah. The couple was handed seven and 12-year prison sentences in 2022 for bank fraud, tax evasion, and more. Savannah tirelessly advocated for them, eventually seeking help from presidential "pardon czar" Alice Marie Johnson to secure their release.

Before the Chrisleys' release, there was speculation about whether Todd and Julie would be involved in the show. That doubt seems to have evaporated at this juncture. Yet, as Alice Marie Johnson advised, the married duo may want to take some time to regroup as they reintegrate themselves into society. Whether they choose to heed that advice remains to be seen, but with the 2025 TV schedule, the family is set to grace our screens once more, and it's possible we'll see Todd and Julie on the show, given the recent turn of events.
