Wendy Shay warns PR teams ahead of Ghana Music Awards 2026

Wendy Shay, a nominee for Artiste of the Year at the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards, has issued a strong warning to public relations professionals and industry pundits. She claims some are deliberately undermining fellow artistes during awards campaigns, risking long-term damage to reputations.

The singer has criticised the practice of hiring PR teams and pundits to speak on behalf of artistes ahead of major awards. She argues that careless or aggressive statements made during these campaigns can permanently harm an artiste's image.

Wendy Shay has made it clear she will not tolerate any attempts to tarnish her brand. She has directly warned her own team against engaging in such behaviour. If anyone—whether a PR representative or commentator—targets her reputation while promoting another artiste, she is prepared to take legal action. While she supports healthy competition and fan enthusiasm, she opposes deliberate efforts to drag down rivals. The artist insists she has worked too hard to let her name be damaged by reckless statements during the awards season.

Wendy Shay's stance comes as the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards approach. She has put PR professionals and pundits on notice, stating she will defend her reputation with legal measures if necessary. The warning highlights growing concerns about the impact of aggressive campaigning in Ghana's music industry.
