Welcome TD Bank Launches All-Digital Loan System for Rural Filipinos
Welcome TD Bank (Rural Bank), Inc. has launched a fully digital loan application system in partnership with Trusting Social Philippines. The new process allows customers to apply for loans anytime, using only their smartphones. Bank officials say the move aims to improve access for rural residents and strengthen fraud protection.
The collaboration between Welcome Bank and Trusting Social Philippines replaces traditional paperwork with an automated system. Applicants now verify their identity by uploading a photo of a government-issued ID and a selfie for liveness checks. Once confirmed, the process moves to a secure e-signature stage powered by eMudhra's platform.
The bank has also integrated AI-driven behavioral biometrics to detect and prevent fraud. This technology analyzes user behavior to block sophisticated scams before they occur. Additionally, Welcome Bank has complied with the Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act (AFASA) by rolling out an automated Fraud Management System (FMS) ahead of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) deadline.
Johnny Escaler, CEO of Trusting Social Philippines, highlighted that simplifying the application journey gives borrowers more control. Meanwhile, Welcome Bank President Suk Sub Shim stressed that rural customers deserve the same fast, reliable banking services as urban users. The new system supports business, personal, and auto financing—all accessible 24/7 through mobile devices.
The digital loan service removes barriers for rural applicants by eliminating in-person visits and paperwork. With AI fraud detection and eKYC protocols in place, the bank expects fewer delays and greater security. Customers can now complete the entire process—from application to approval—without leaving their homes.
