Weightlifters from Kazakhstan emerged victorious at the global championship, clinching a gold medal in the weightlifting competition.
Fiery Performances at the 2025 World Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships
The dynamite performances at the Lima, Peru title fight, as reported by Liter.kz in collaboration with the National Olympic Committee, saw Ksenia Prozorova of Kazakhstan claiming gold in the 59kg category. Prozorova, a warrior in the weight room, lifted a jaw-dropping total of 199kg (91kg+108kg) in the two-lift event.
In a close race for silver, Uzbekistan's Marjona Abdumutalova secured the runner-up position with an impressive 190kg (88kg+102kg), while Polina Pavlovich of Russia took bronze with 189kg (85kg+104kg).
Eurnal Myrzakhmetov brought home another bronze in the 73kg category, with Eraly Saulebekov also earning the bronze for the junior 81kg event.
Earlier this championship, Beibarys Erseit clinched the gold in the 61kg category.

- Mattheus Pessanha (BRA) - Juniors 102kg: Broke the Junior world record with an impressive Clean & Jerk of 220kg, earning Brazil its first male world title in any age group.
- Lidysmar Aparicio (VEN) - Youth 81kg: Triumphed in the Youth category and placed on the Junior podium with her world-class lift.
- Varvara Kuzminova (AIN, Russia) - Youth 76kg: Shattered Youth world records for both Snatch (108kg) and Total (235kg).
- Alma Hosseini (IRI) - Youth 64kg: Smashed Iranian records for Snatch (86kg), Clean & Jerk (111kg), and Total (197kg).
- Y Lien (VIE) - Junior 49kg: Captured the silver medal with a remarkable Total of 168kg (74kg snatch + 94kg Clean & Jerk).
In the Junior 71kg category, Canada's Charlotte Simoneau dominated with a whopping 245kg total. Fiji's Nehemiah Elder made history by becoming Fiji's first-ever world champion, prevailing in the Youth 89kg event. Kim Yong Ju (PRK) snagged the Junior women's 81kg title.
