Weekly Highlight of Autumn Nations Series: Standout Players Recognized
Fired Up and Uncensored:
The Autumn Nations Series is living up to the hype, and after this intense weekend of games, Bet Central has created a team of standouts.
15. Tom Wright (Australia)
Dude, let me tell you about Tom Wright. He lit up the field against England like a matchstick to a gas tank, turning heads in a big way with his lightning counter-attacks. Bros like Tom Jordan, Will Jordan, and Willie le Roux were solid, but Wright took it to another level.
14. Canan Moodie (South Africa)
Young gun Canan Moodie gave us a show this weekend. He's got skills for days, and with his amazing game awareness, he was a constant threat to the opposition. Mark Tele'a caused some trouble too, but it wasn't enough for Moodie.
13. Joseph Suaalii (Australia) - Player of the Week
We're talking about one of the most incredible debuts in history here. Joseph Suaalii stepped onto the field like he'd been playing Union for years, and man, he did not disappoint. He's got a natural knack for this game, and it's going to take some serious work to stop him.
12. Josua Tuisova (Fiji)
Fiji had a tough time dominating the gainline last week, but with Josua Tuisova back in the game, they crushed it. His tree-trunk legs carried him through like bulldozers, and his link-ups were tight, making him a force to be reckoned with.
11. Caleb Clarke (New Zealand)
With Clarke on the wings, the opposition knew they were in for a tough time. He was a physical powerhouse on attack, and his technical prowess made him even more formidable. Makazole Mapimpi kept that s** on for the Springboks, while Louis Bielle-Biarrey went balls-out.
10. Caleb Muntz (Fiji)
We gotta talk about Caleb Muntz, man. Last year's World Cup could've been so much different if he hadn't gotten injured. This weekend, he terrorized England, scoring 19 points and nearly getting Player of the Week honor. Marcus Smith was down, but Muntz's Sunday showcase brought him back up.
09. Antoine Dupont (France)
Antoine Dupont reminded us why he's a generational talent this weekend. Though he made a few mistakes, he was still the best scrumhalf we saw by miles. Jamison Gibson-Park had a hell of a game too, but Dupont was in a league of his own.
08. Gregory Alldritt (France)
Things were looking rough for Gregory Alldritt this season, but he came back strong this weekend. His carries were on point, and he played some solid defense. Ardie Savea was also a beast for New Zealand, but Allrditt had the edge.
07. Fraser McReight (Australia)
Once again, McReight proved to be a force to be reckoned with, especially during tight situations. His work rate was insane, and it was like he had eyes in the back of his head, watching every opponent move. Josh van der Flier was equally impressive for Ireland.
06. Rob Valentini (Australia)
We had some tough choices in this position, but Valentini proved to be the ultimate badass. In an epic battle, he shone like a star, carrying the ball with determination and taking down opponents like a boss. Chandler Cunningham-South had a crazy start for England, while Francois Cros played like a slick operator for France.
05. Emmanuel Meafou (France)
This mountain of a man was a beast for France, showing surprising mobility and killing it in ball skills. At over 140 kg, he was a handful for anyone. Jeremy Williams has promise for the Wallabies' second row, but Meafou was the clear winner.
04. Eben Etzebeth (South Africa)
At 32, Etzebeth showed us once again that age is just a number. He played like a youngster against Scotland, carrying recklessly and contesting like a champ. Maro Itoje fought hard for England, but Etzebeth took the prize.
03. Thomas du Toit (South Africa)
Joel Sclavi did a good job for Argentina, but it was du Toit who stole the show. He showcased his potential for the future, proving himself to be a promising replacement for the legendary Frans Malherbe.
02. Asafo Aumua (New Zealand)
Surprise, surprise! Aumua had a few blunders in the lineout, but he more than made up for it with his explosive plays and mobility. Peato Mauvaka put in a solid performance, and Dewi Lake was a force, but Aumua was the king of the castle.
01. Angus Bell (Australia)
If there were a contest for best forward of the week, Angus Bell would have won it hands down. He was a machine this weekend, playing all-rounder and making an impact everywhere. Eroni Nawi showed some skill for Fiji, and Tamaiti Williams had a decent game too, but Bell was in a league of his own.
Honourable mentions:Kurt-Lee Arendse, Rieko Ioane, Scott Barret, Ardie Savea, Caelan Doris, Jack Willis, Waisea Nayacalevu, Len Ikitau, Makazole Mapimpi, Caleb Muntz, Marcus Smith, Jamison Gibson-Park, Josh van der Flier, Joan Sclavi, Peato Mauvaka, Dewi Lake, Ethan de Groot.
