The 'Weekend of Special Events' in Schwerin recently honoured 44 young musicians with 28 awards. The event, held at Schwerin Castle, aimed to inspire young talents to explore diverse musical compositions. NDR Kultur recorded the winners' concert, set to air on December 7 at 9:30 PM. Around 100 'Jugend musiziert' winners were invited to participate in the special challenges. The event offered categories such as best interpretation of a personal composition, a contemporary work, a modern classic, and a piece by a female composer. Additionally, prizes were awarded for the best interpretation of a piece composed for 'Jugend musiziert', a piece of 'banned music', and a performance in the open category. The total prize money amounted to around 25,000 euros. Despite the search results not providing the names of the winners, their exceptional talents were celebrated and recognised. The 'Weekend of Special Events' successfully encouraged young musicians to venture beyond mainstream music.
