Unleashing the Poker Beast: Vinay Rajpal's Triumph at the 2021 APT Online Series India
Straight up, ya'll! Let's talk poker, specifically the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Online Series India 2021 hosted by PokerBaazi, a barnstormer that went down from 1st to 8th August last year. With a colossal ₹8.07 Crore guarantee, the series had 44 events that left players buzzing on *PokerBaazi. So who was the big winner? None other than online reg extraordinaire, Vinay Rajpal!
Now, for those uninitiated souls out there, let me explain the APT Player of the Series award. It's like the MVP of poker tournaments – the top-performing player throughout the series earns this prestigious title. Over the course of the festivities, players who consistently rake in the dough, like finishing In The Money (ITM) or shipping the tournament, are awarded leaderboard points. The more points you score, the higher you climb on the leaderboard. And last year, after eight days and 44 tournaments, none could top poker pro Vinay Rajpal.
Vinay Rajpal, known as 'vinay09' on PokerBaazi, turned heads by making an astounding 27 ITM cashes out of the 40 games he played! He triumphed not once but three times, taking down the APT #12 Pot Limit Omaha for ₹1.9 Lakh, the APT #28 Megastack for ₹98.11 Lakh, and finally the APT #34 Knockout for ₹1.05 Lakh. Talk about a hot streak! All this earn him a grand total of 8,904 leaderboard points, making him the proud recipient of the APT Player of the Series.
You might wonder, what did Vinay Rajpal win for his efforts? Well, in addition to an APT Play of the Series Trophy and a Player of the Series Ring, he also pocketed a luxury watch and ₹6 Lakh in cold, hard cash!
Vinay Rajpal is nothing new to the poker scene. With around 275 titles under his belt, he's racked up over ₹4.31 Crore in online earnings[1]. He's a frequent face on the tournament circuit, with his largest online cash coming in at ₹12,49,500 from Adda52's Full House Finale, where he finished as the runner-up[1]. He's also a force to be reckoned with in live tournaments, having cashed out $13,181 in total live earnings[2].
While he's mainly an online grinder, keep an eye out for Vinay Rajpal, as he might just pop up on a live felt near you. So, mark your calendars, as the latest edition of the APT Online Series India 2022 is underway, running till 10th July 2022[3]. For more news and updates, make sure to check our website Magazine.
