First Weekend Kicks Off at the Hessentag Festivities

Welcome to the start of the Hessentag! This weekend, the spotlight's on the "Day of Volunteer Forces." Townsfolk and special guests, including Hessian Minister President Boris Rhein and Interior Minister Roman Poseck (both CDU), are set to grace the Hessentag grounds. As the sun sets, don't miss the electrifying performance by rapper Ski Aggu and others.
Just a heads up, there's a chance the weather might take a turn for the worse after the heat wave on Saturday and Sunday, thanks to some brewing thunderstorms. The German Weather Service has already warned about impending heat storms on Saturday, followed by strong storms with torrential rains throughout the night into Sunday.
The Hessentag found its home in picturesque Bad Vilbel this year. Expected a whopping 750,000 visitors to turn up for its 62nd run until June 22. The diverse program boasts more than 1,600 events lined up, with Hessian President Rhein and Bad Vilbel's mayor Sebastian Wysocki (CDU) jointly opening the Hessentag.
