Saturday, September 20, will see the start of an action-packed weekend at Capannelle Racecourse, as the 98th Italian Derby of the Trot and the Oaks of the Trot take centre stage. The weekend is not just about trot racing, however, as it also includes a two-day event dedicated to the Japanese Market.

In the trot racing event, Ginger Wise As, Goggia, Goccia Prad, and Ginger Gio have legitimate ambitions of qualifying for the final in battery C. These horses will be up against some stiff competition, with Gmail Road Grif, Gessica Pass, and Glen Rose also in the mix. One more competitor is in battery C of the Oaks, with Gloria Italia and Giorgia d'Esi trying to tactically orient the race.

Gaber Gio and Ginger Gio have done well throughout the season, but it's Glamour Queen who is the clear favourite in the Seventh Race - Battery A Oaks. The daughter of Face Time Bourbon and the champion Peace of Mind has five victories in seven races, including the Marangoni Filly and the Breeders Course final in Sweden. Geiles Leben Home, who has the advantage of the number on the rope in battery C, will also be a contender.

Geber's Dream, a new creation of the Gocciadoro team, has been generating interest as it is an unbeaten mare. Giotto Grif, a horse with two wins in group 3, could face a duel with Gimmy Top in the initial phase of a race on Saturday. Glory Winner is a favourite in the sixth race on Saturday, the Battery B Oaks, and should easily qualify for the final.

On Sunday, September 21, the reins handler for the Derby batteries in Capannelle will be announced, with the favoured horses being those considered top contenders in the trot racing event. The weekend's racing climaxes with the first Listed Race Day, featuring two listed races, one super conditional, and two conditional races.

The Premio Repubbliche Marinare Trofeo Goffs and the Premio Ubaldo Pandolfi will be the main attractions on Sunday. Sunday's racing promises to be a thrilling end to a weekend of top-class trot racing action at Capannelle Racecourse.
