Weekend Fun: Breaking Records with Parasailing and Celebrating in Village Festivals - Tips to Enjoy
Get ready for an action-packed weekend across our region! Here's a roundup of some of the exciting events happening near you.
First off, sports enthusiasts won't want to miss the world record attempt in skydiving by Paralympic athlete Tobias Fankhauser in Plate on Saturday, starting at 9 AM. Meanwhile, in Pampow, the much-anticipated Harvest Festival kicks off on Friday, with the senior afternoon from 2:30 PM to 5 PM. The festival proper begins on Saturday at 2 PM with a grand parade, followed by a tree planting action for the newborns of the community at 10 AM on Seestraße in Leezen.
On Saturday evening, Pampow offers a variety of entertainment. Dancing under the harvest crown will take place at 9 PM, and a children's disco will start at 7 PM. The festival's opening night will also feature an Ostseewelle party with DJs Uwe Worlitzer and Alex Stuth, starting at 10 PM.
On Sunday, the day at Pampow Harvest Festival will start at 10 AM with a festival service in the tent. Later in the day, a large family afternoon with a tombola will begin at 2 PM.
Elsewhere, Wittenförden will transport you to the Middle Ages this weekend, with around 40 traders, jesters, Vikings, pirates, and knights setting up camp. Visitors can participate in games, admire craftsmanship, and sample traditional food. On the same day, Sukow invites you to the village community center for "City Country Plays!", a day dedicated to board games, from 10 am to 5 pm. On site, you'll find a large game collection, game explainers, a rally with a main prize, as well as coffee and cake.
Lastly, Crivitz will participate in the global action day for a clean environment, World Cleanup Day, on Saturday morning. Meeting points will be at the Bürgerhaus, the parking lot of the beverage market in the Neustadt, the pavilion in the Arboretum, and the Fischregen in Weinbergstraße. The goal is to collect 5,555 cigarette butts together. On Sunday, a fall flea market will enhance the program in Wittenförden.
