Weekend Snow Bliss!
Week of December 25-January 1: Snowfall Predictions!
Imagine coming home from a Sunday service, only to find heavy snowfall blanketing the landscape! That's what our week started with—snowShowers pounding and piling up fast, transforming our world in an instant. Pure joy!
Sitting by the window, we watched the fluffy white stuff fall thick and fast, creating a magical scene. To top it all off, our dear Thomas bestowed Samuel with a holy duty—ordaining him as a deacon, and he even received his first recommend to grace the holy temple.
Monday: Winter Wonderland
With the weather ready for playtime, we spent our Monday jubilantly careening down the snow-covered hills surrounding our humble abode. It was a breathtaking sight to behold all that snowy perfection, and an exhilarating experience for the family! Thomas, before embarking on his journey to college, seized this golden opportunity to make cherished memories with us.
Tuesday: Temple Treasures and Learning Legacy
We ventured out to Raleigh on Tuesday, gracing our local temple and then checking out a free science museum. A fitting farewell field trip for Thomas, who's about to embark on new adventures.
Friday: Snowapalooza!
Barreling in like a winter storm, we received a generous 4-5” dumping of snow on Friday. A rare treat for us, as we've barely seen a dusting in the past two years! According to rumors, it'd been 1077 days since we welcomed an inch or more of the white stuff. We embraced this snowy weekend festivity wholeheartedly, basking in the comfort of our home, as everything outside came to a standstill. Even church services took a break, and sneaking out to brisk the chill would have been sheer madness, given our snow-bound driveway.
While enjoying the fluffy solitude, we took a mental trip to Antarctica, imagining syncing our joyful moment with a temporary increase in ice coverage due to increased precipitation happening around the same time. The rest of the world dealing with scorching heat, while we reveled in our frost-bit paradise. Life can be so strange, yet beautiful!
We continued to bask in the wintery splendor on Friday, as a generous 4-5 inch snowfall blanketed our neighborhood, creating a picturesque winter wonderland. The weather held us captive in our home, forcing a temporary halt to church services and making venturing out for a brisk walk an impractical and potentially hazardous adventure. As we cozied up indoors, we marveled at the thought of our joyful snowfall coinciding with a temporary increase in ice coverage around Antarctica, as the rest of the world baked under scorching heat.
