Weather shift in Kazakhstan: Anticyclone moves from +37 degrees to +8 degrees
Kazakhstan is gearing up for a weather rollercoaster ride in August 2025, as a series of atmospheric phenomena are set to shake up the country's usual climate patterns.
The western anticyclone, a large-scale weather system, is expected to bring an end to the rain in Kazakhstan. However, before it arrives, rain with thunderstorms is forecast across the country. The stormy weather is likely to be particularly intense in the northern regions, where strong rain and even hail are predicted.
The western anticyclone will move towards the west and northwest of Kazakhstan by the end of the period, but its influence won't be the only factor shaping the country's weather. Weather stations in neighbouring countries such as Russia, China, and possibly Central Asian countries like Uzbekistan or Kyrgyzstan are likely to be connected to the weather phenomenon in Kazakhstan on August 21-23, 2025. This cross-border data is essential to understand regional atmospheric interactions influencing Kazakhstan's weather patterns during that time.
As for the temperatures, the west of Kazakhstan is predicted to see nighttime temperatures rise to +15°C to +23°C, and daytime highs to +30°C to +37°C. The northwest will experience similar temperatures, with nighttime temperatures rising to +8°C to +16°C, and daytime highs to +25°C to +33°C. In the southeastern regions, nighttime temperatures are expected to be +10°C to +22°C, with daytime temperatures gradually dropping to +20°C to +32°C. Southern regions will see nighttime temperatures of +13°C to +22°C, with daytime temperatures gradually dropping to +27°C to +35°C. In the east, nighttime temperatures will range from +7°C to +18°C, and daytime highs from +19°C to +27°C. Central Kazakhstan is expected to have nighttime temperatures ranging from +9°C to +18°C, and daytime highs from +18°C to +30°C.
Later in August 2025, weather conditions are expected to be unstable, with hot days alternating with cool, rainy ones, and possible thunderstorms, hail, and dust storms. Rainfall is expected to be within normal limits, but the north and east may see more. Fog is expected in northern regions during the night and morning hours.
Another weather system, a northwestern cyclone, will continue to influence most of Kazakhstan. Wind will strengthen across the republic, adding to the dynamic weather conditions.
August 2025 in Kazakhstan is expected to have contrasting weather conditions, with some regions experiencing heat with no rain, while others will see rain and temperature fluctuations. This unpredictable weather is a reminder for Kazakhstanis to stay weather-aware and prepared for the coming month.
