Weather service Meteo France issues orange thunderstorm alert for thirteen departments in northwest and central regions

A thunderous warning accompanied by intense heat sweeps across France! Météo France has issued an orange alert for 13 departments beginning Wednesday at 4 pm, in the northwest central region.
Brace yourself for thunderstorms barreling in from the Atlantic coast that will swiftly reach the "Quercy-Limousin-Auvergne axis" with "torrential rainfalls (30 to 50 millimeters in one to two hours)", and locally, hail up to 5 centimeters, and wind gusts up to 100 km/h. Departments under watch include Lot, Cantal, Corrèze, Creuse, Puy-de-Dôme, Allier, Loire, and others.
Notably, Normandy and the northern Pays de la Loire territories are also predicted to experience additional thunderstorms later in the day, accompanied by "strong winds (up to 100 km/h)", "medium to large hail", and "heavy rainfall". Departments potentially affected include Calvados, Orne, Mayenne, Sarthe, Eure, and Seine-Maritime.
