In the southern part of Cologne, the Poll district, residents and officials are scratching their heads. The German Weather Service (DWD) is delving into the possibility of a tornado touching down in this very area, as reported by a DWD spokesperson on a recent Friday. The twister rumors surfaced following some serious storm damage that unfolded during the night shift from Thursday to Friday.

The local fire department recorded a scene of chaos, with roofs covering roads, trees uprooted, and fences cracked. The roofers are currently working diligently to correct the calamities, reported a DWD spokesperson on Friday afternoon.

While some local sources mention residents witnessing a twister whirl through the district, the DWD moderately labels these events as "suspicious" in the initial analysis. Tornadoliste.de, a weather website, also classifies the occurrence as "suspected".

Storm depression "Zoltan" was the main antagonist that swept across Germany during these stormy days, resulting in damage in numerous regions.

Additional context: It's worth noting that although there are no concrete confirmations of a tornado in the Poll district yet, the threat of tornadoes is not unheard-of in North Rhine-Westphalia. The region has recorded two F1 tornadoes between 1981 and 2007. Nevertheless, this investigation is still underway, and the DWD representatives insist that the confirmation is needed to validate these claims.

As investigations continue, the Poll district remains on high alert, looking forward to confirmations that would put an end to the speculation surrounding the possible tornado.
