Lottery Luck Turns Sour
Fortune seemed to smile on Patricia S. (56) in 2018 when she won an astounding 1.2 million euros in the lottery. However, her luck soon ran out as she squandered her winnings in just five years. Now, according to the indictment, Patricia found herself in a precarious financial situation, leading her and her daughter Cindy (29) to resort to stealing from friends and running up hefty debts.
The Devil's Deal
In late February 2024, Patricia S. and Cindy are said to have hatched a sinister plan to end her husband's life, Ralf, to finance their lavish lifestyles, and achieve a much-desired separation. But, lacking the resources to execute the plan themselves, they enlisted the help of an unwitting partner.
Hitman for Hire
Cindy's partner, driven by their influence, allegedly sought out a hitman from Bulgaria – Radi S. (33). Patricia and Cindy are said to have paid him 50,000 euros for the hit and even traveled to Bulgaria to meet the hired criminal in person, returning to Munich with him on February 15, 2024.
Radi S. moved in with Cindy's partner and began preparing the attack. On February 27, he is said to have attacked Ralf with an axe and a knife around 9:50 PM in front of his house in Odelzhausen – three times against the head. However, Ralf fought back fiercely. When a neighbor witnessed the fight, the killer fled.
The Trial Begins
In court, the four defendants remain tight-lipped. Psychiatrist Cornelis Stadtland, however, spoke to Nikolay B., Cindy's partner, in prison, revealing that Radi S. offered to help with renovations, later blackmailing B. into driving S. to the victim's house and waiting for 30 minutes. S. returned breathless and reported that he had attacked Mr. S. – there was "a lot of blood". The wife, motivated by greed, offered money to "remove" the man.
