WAVES Summit 2025: Actor Vijay Deverakonda Expresses His Desire for a Collaboration Between Shah Rukh Khan and Allu Arjun

Mumbai Chatter:

From the WAVES 2025 bash on Friday, actor Vijay Deverakonda tossed out an intriguing idea: a collaboration between Bollywood heavyweight Shah Rukh Khan and the reigning Telugu king, Allu Arjun. Yeah, you heard that right!

Now, imagine the fireworks if these two titans teamed up! According to Deverakonda, if a big-time North star and a smash-hit South star join forces, it'll be a game-changer. He reckons it could "bring the nation together," as these fellows have proven their box office prowess.

King Khan's last blockbuster is said to have raked in a whopping 800 hundred odd crores (yep, that's almost a billion dollars), while Allu Arjun's movies have reportedly hit the billion-dollar mark too. So,figuratively speaking, multiply those figures, and you get an idea of the potential repercussions of this crazy collab.

Deverakonda isn't a fan of the on-going cinematic face-off between the North and South, labeling it an "unproductive tiff." Instead, he believes that the Indian film industry should focus on synergizing, which, in his view, is the key to taking on the might of Hollywood.

"It's about time India really started recognizing South movies,” Deverakonda shared. “This whole conversation has been great for talk shows, ratings, and newspaper headlines; but frankly, it ain't the healthiest thing for the film industry. We need to collaborate if we want to challenge Hollywood,” he opined.

Speaking of headlines, WAVES 2025's second day saw Kareena Kapoor Khan sharing a mind-blowing anecdote. She spilled the beans about a serendipitous run-in with Hollywood icon Steven Spielberg. Seems she bumped into the legendary director at a restaurant post-3 Idiots' release, and he utterly adored the film.

When asked about her own dream of venturing into Hollywood, Kareena admitted that no Hollywood stint had materialized yet, but she's open to the idea. With family values and cinematic passions running deep in her veins, the lioness of Bollywood expressed, "Times are a-changing, and who knows? If the right Hindi-English project comes my way, I might just grab it with both hands!"

Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened WAVES 2025 on Thursday, and the extravaganza is hosting over 10,000 delegates, 1,000 creators, 300+ companies, and 350+ startups from more than 90 countries. The forum kicked off on May 1 and runs until May 4.
