Warriors Finalize Roster: Kuminga, Horford Join Squad
The Golden State Warriors have finalised their roster after an extended period, with Jonathan Kuminga and Al Horford joining the team. The process took over three months, longer than usual, and involved negotiations and planning by coach Steve Kerr.
Kuminga, a 22-year-old forward, had been considering his options since receiving a $7.9 million qualifying offer in June. He eventually signed a two-year deal worth up to $46.5 million on Tuesday. The delay in his signing was due to NBA rules requiring first-round rookies to wait until the end of the league's annual signing moratorium, which typically occurs in September.
Kerr plans to discuss Kuminga's role in the team's offense and defense, as the young player is expected to rejoin the team for a physical and practice on Thursday. Meanwhile, veteran Al Horford, a five-time All-Star, has joined the Warriors after four years in Boston. Horford is eager to play alongside stars like Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Jimmy Butler, aiming for a championship title.
With the signings of Kuminga, Horford, and Seth Curry, the Warriors' roster is now complete. Kuminga, turning 23 on Monday, is set to play a significant role in the team's upcoming season, with Kerr ready to integrate him into the squad's strategies.
