Warren Buffett wins a basketball lesson from Stephen Curry after $55M charity bid

Warren Buffett has donated over $55 million to charity through his annual Seat At The Table auction. This year, the legendary investor chose to support the Eat.Learn.Play. foundation, run by NBA star Stephen Curry and his wife Ayesha. The unusual prize? A personal basketball lesson from Curry himself. Buffett's auction win means Curry will soon teach the 93-year-old billionaire how to shoot. The Golden State Warriors guard plans to start with the basics, using a mobile hoop for the session. To prepare, Curry will review training videos in advance.

Curry recently returned to full practice and 5-on-5 scrimmages after recovering from a right knee injury. His focus now shifts to the charity event, where he and Ayesha will use the platform to raise further funds and awareness for their foundation. The Eat.Learn.Play. organisation, which tackles food insecurity, education gaps, and youth sports access, was singled out by Buffett for its community impact. The couple has stressed the need to keep expanding the foundation's work across underserved areas.

The auction proceeds will go directly to the Curry's foundation, boosting its programmes in Oakland and beyond. Buffett's lesson with Curry will take place in the coming months, with the mobile hoop ready for use. The event aims to shine a brighter spotlight on the foundation's ongoing efforts.
