Warning Issued by Zelensky Regarding Expansion of Military Conflict

In a significant development, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has issued a warning to Europe about the potential expansion of the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia beyond its borders.

In an evening video address posted on platform X, Zelensky expressed his concerns, stating that Russia might escalate the war if Europe does not take notice. He emphasised that the war is not limited to one or another neighbouring country, but could affect all of Europe.

The warning comes amidst ongoing conflict and a massive incursion of Russian drones into Poland's airspace last week, marking the first known instance of drones being shot down by the Polish air force and NATO forces in Poland. At least 19 aerial objects from Russia entered Polish airspace, adding to the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

Zelensky implied that the potential escalation of the war could have far-reaching consequences, affecting not just Ukraine but all European countries. He expects the world to draw its conclusions from these recent events.

The incursion of Russian drones into Polish airspace serves as a potential escalation of the conflict, as acknowledged by Zelensky. It emphasizes the potential for the conflict to expand beyond Ukraine's borders. Previously, Russian drones have entered the air traffic control zones of Ukraine and Romania before entering Polish airspace. Specifically, drones have been reported over Ukraine regions including Odessa, Sumy, and Kharkiv, and a Russian drone was confirmed to have violated Romanian airspace near the Danube border before moving towards Ukraine.

Zelensky stressed that the conflict is solely that of Russia and its leader, Vladimir Putin. He called on Europe to take action to prevent further escalation of the conflict, serving as a call for unity and cooperation in the face of potential danger.

The warning underscores the interconnectedness of the conflict and its potential impact on all European countries. As the situation continues to evolve, it is crucial for Europe to remain vigilant and proactive in addressing the challenges posed by this ongoing conflict.
