Get ready for the sun's scorching rays and sizzling heat, as the summer heatwave descends upon regions once more! From Pentecost's rainy start to the Mediterranean's blistering highs and Germany's steady warm-up, this week has plenty in store for sun enthusiasts.
Pentecost ushers in gusty winds, scattered thunderstorms, and a touch of rain, along with moderately chilly temperatures. But for those jet-setting to the Mediterranean, the sun shines brightly, reaching 30°C in various locations like Spain's Andalusia, where the mercury spikes above 40°C.
But fear not, as the summer revival is imminent across domestic landscapes. Already, a brand-new week sees temperatures surpassing 30°C, starting as early as Monday and Tuesday. Initially, this heatwave sweeps across the southern regions but will gradually spread across the country.
Overnight and Monday
Pentecost Monday briefly calms the tumultuous seas, with stormy gusts as the only remnants at sea. Overnight, brief showers pass through the north and southeast, accompanied by occasional thunderstorms. In the southwest, however, the skies clear, presenting a serene yet mild night of 12 to 5°C.
As Monday dawns, the north remains gloomy, transforming into an interplay of sunshine, clouds, and scattered showers. A few flashes of lightning and thunder may grace the northeastern skies. In the south, clouds part, giving way to more frequent sunshine and rising temperatures, basking the Upper Rhine in up to 23°C.
Tuesday through Mid-Week
Tuesday follows a similar pattern, with northern regions cloaked by clouds and rain showers. The skies gradually brighten as the afternoon approaches. Southward, summery warmth blankets the landscape with up to 27°C in the southwest, while the Baltic Sea cools with a high of 16°C.
By midweek, the weather improves further with generous sunshine hours, but the northeast retains a minimal chance of brief showers. The mercury rises appreciably, reaching an inviting 29°C by midweek.
The Second Half of the Week
Thursday presents a change, with ample sunshine and a dry summer day. The southwest blazes with temperatures over 30°C, while the rest of the country experiences highs ranging between 25°C and 30°C. This heatwave continues its march into the weekend, with sun-drenched skies and the ever-present heat thunderstorms.
