Warmer weather and long days are fast approaching!
Germany Set for Summery Weekend as Temperatures Reach up to 30 Degrees
Starting from Ascension Day, Germany will experience a warmer climate with temperatures reaching up to 30 degrees in certain regions. However, some areas may encounter showers and thunderstorms.
Television broadcaster ntv.de reports that this weekend will mark the comeback of summer in Germany. Bjoern Alexander, a weather expert, predicts that peak temperatures will rise to 30 degrees in parts of the country. Those longing for sweltering temperatures during their short holiday in southern Europe can expect an intense summer dance, with Spain flirting with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees and occasional relief from heat thunderstorms.
Central and eastern Mediterranean regions will also bask in warm weather, but showers and thunderstorms will be more prevalent, triggering severe weather warnings in certain areas. On the other hand, the German and Dutch coasts can expect cooler temperatures, ranging from 16 to 21 degrees.
The North and Baltic Seas offer water temperatures of 13 to 15 degrees, while lakes range from 16 to 17 degrees. Coastal shallow areas may be warmer, with values often around 18 to 22 degrees in the southern Mediterranean regions, particularly in eastern and southern areas near North Africa.
After a turbulent Wednesday, the weekend will present calmer weather conditions. While there will still be occasional showers and thunderstorms, conditions will be significantly better and warmer than the preceding days. Ascension Day will see the last showers between the Alps and the Ore Mountains, with improved weather conditions for the Baltic Sea and Upper Rhine regions, where temperatures could reach 22 to 24 degrees.
Temperatures are expected to rise further on Friday and the weekend, with temperatures often climbing to 20 to 25 degrees, and up to 27 or 30 degrees at the Upper Rhine. When moving towards the end of the weekend, there will be individual showers and thunderstorms from the west, with partly sunny conditions on Sunday. Temperatures in the northwest will slightly cool to 20 to 25 degrees, while in the south and east, temperatures will reach 25 to 30 degrees yet again.
The experimental long-term forecast for June indicates that the warmer but more changeable tendencies have gained the upper hand again. However, despite this uncertainty, the more unstable variants with the intrusion of further heatwaves prevail. This suggests continued summer-like shower and thunderstorm activity interspersed with sunny, hot periods.
