Summer Prevails in Germany This Weekend as Southern Europe Sizzles
From Ascension Day, a warmer and more summer-like climate will come to Germany, with peak temperatures reaching up to 30 degrees in some regions. However, scattered thunderstorms and showers may occur in isolated areas. This weekend will mark the return of summer in Germany, offering an extended period of summer warmth for those spending their holiday in the south of Europe.
Temperatures soaring above 40 degrees can be expected in some parts of Spain, with only local heat thunderstorms providing some respite. Central and eastern Mediterranean areas will also experience summery warmth, though showers and thunderstorms will be more common, occasionally triggering severe weather warnings. For those opting for the German or Dutch coasts, noticeably fresher values, ranging from 16 to 21 degrees, can be anticipated.
Water temperatures in the North and Baltic Seas currently range from 13 to 15 degrees, while lakes offer temperatures of 16 or 17 degrees. Warmth increases with water depth, with shallower coastal and shore areas being warmer. Southern Mediterranean regions boast temperatures generally around 18 to 22 degrees.
The upcoming weekend will bring a significant improvement in weather conditions after a turbulent period. While scattered showers and thunderstorms may occur, the latter days will be warmer and drier than the previous week. Ascension Day is expected to see showers between the Alps and the Ore Mountains, with rain possible in the west and northwest.
After a brief chill in the early portion of the week, temperatures will rebound on Friday and the weekend, bringing more sunshine from the southwest, while the east continues to experience some remaining shower clouds. The increase in sunshine and Spanish warm air will lift temperatures to 20 to 25 or even 27 to 30 degrees along the Upper Rhine.
Temperatures are expected to remain high on Saturday, when peak temperatures may reach 25 degrees or even 30 along the Upper Rhine. Sea breezes will keep temperatures more comfortable around 20 degrees in coastal areas. On Sunday, temperatures will cool slightly in the northwest to 20 to 25 degrees, while in the south and east, temperatures will return to 25 to 30 degrees.
So far this year, Waghäusel-Kirrlach and Ohlsbach, both located in Baden-Württemberg, have recorded the highest temperatures at 30.4 and 30.1 degrees, respectively. Elsewhere, temperatures have not yet surpassed 30 degrees.
The long-term forecast for June suggests a volatile weather pattern, with warm but changeable tendencies forming again. While there is still uncertainty, a predominance of unstable weather variants with further heatwaves appears likely. In other words, based on current trends, summery showers, thunderstorms, and sunny hot phases are expected to continue in the coming weeks.

I'm not sure if the weather in Germany will be as hot as in southern Europe next weekend. The weather forecast indicates that temperatures in Germany will reach up to 30 degrees, but the forecast for southern Europe shows temperatures soaring above 40 degrees in some parts.
