The weather forecast for the second half of this week in Latvia is indicating a transition from cooler and rainy conditions in the early part of the week to warmer and sunnier weather towards the weekend.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, rain is expected across the country, with temperatures ranging from about 12°C to 19°C, cooler on Wednesday (12-17°C). Rain will be more prolonged in the eastern parts of Latvia. Drivers should expect difficult weather conditions overnight into Tuesday, as visibility may deteriorate, and some road sections will be slippery with temperatures dipping below freezing point.

However, from Thursday and Friday, the weather will start to clear up, and it will become mostly sunny and dry. Temperatures on these days will be cooler, generally below 20°C, with coastal regions experiencing the coldest conditions and strong north-westerly winds, with gusts up to 15-19 m/s particularly on Thursday.

By Saturday and Sunday, the weather is expected to be warmer and sunnier with afternoon temperatures rising to 20-25°C, slightly cooler near coastal areas. Winds will lighten, though brief rain showers or thunderstorms remain possible in some places.

Over the weekend, a warmer air mass will flow into the country, and the air temperature will rise, making it distinctly spring-like. In Riga, the capital city, there will be mostly clear skies, and the maximum air temperature will be in the range 0 to +4 degrees Celsius. In central regions, the maximum air temperature on Tuesday could even hit +8 degrees.

Additionally, due to prolonged rain earlier, river water levels remain high, and some fields and gardens are waterlogged. However, the situation should improve as precipitation decreases toward the end of the week.

In summary, the weather forecast for the second half of this week in Latvia suggests a transition from cooler and rainy conditions in the early part of the week to warmer and sunnier weather toward the weekend. This forecast indicates improving and warming trends as the week progresses after an initially cool and wet start.

On Thursday and Friday, the weather-forecasting predicts a transition from the rainy conditions to a more sunny and dry spell, with temperatures generally below 20°C. By Saturday and Sunday, the weather is expected to be warmer, reflecting the weather-forecasting's prediction of a warmer air mass flowing into the country, making it distinctly spring-like.
