Warm sunshine and temperature increase take hold in Maryland on Friday.
After a chilly start to the week, Baltimore is set for a warmer and sunnier weekend, according to meteorologist Derek Beasley, the newly promoted Chief Meteorologist at WJZ.
Tonight, skies in Baltimore will turn mostly clear, and lows will dip into the 50s and low 60s. Tomorrow, high pressure will build overhead, causing sunshine and warmer air, with afternoon highs 5 to 15 degrees warmer than yesterday, reaching the mid to upper 80s.
On Friday, a cold front approaches Baltimore but brings little rain, with a stray shower possible late in the evening as the front slides through. However, moisture overhead is limited, so this shower is not guaranteed. This weekend, the front brings a slight cool-down, with highs back into the 70s to near 80 and lows in the 50s and 60s. Skies will be clear, and the weather will be dry, good news for outdoor plans.
By Monday, winds shift south, pulling in warmer air, with temperatures climbing into the upper 70s to mid-80s. Some models hint at disturbances to the north on Tuesday and Wednesday, which could spark a few afternoon showers or thunderstorms. Forecast confidence drops a bit for these days, so keep an eye on the forecast for updates.
Weather forecast models from the Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD) indicate disturbances in the north on Thursday, March 30, 2023, which could lead to afternoon rain showers or thunderstorms and possibly another frontal passage in the region.
On Sunday, Baltimore will see temperatures in the 60s in the morning and 70s in the afternoon. By Tuesday, temperatures could climb even further into the mid-80s. On Friday, highs on Baltimore will climb into the mid to upper 80s, while spots farther west in higher terrain will be in the 70s.
By midweek, temperatures could push well into the 80s again. On Sunday, an onshore breeze off the Atlantic brings a few low clouds, cooler temperatures, and patchy drizzle closer to the Bay.
