Warm conditions persist in Houston today, with only a minimal probability of precipitation.

Over the next few days, residents in the region can expect a warm week as overnight low temperatures are set to range from the upper-60s to mid-70s. Afternoons will see temperatures climb even higher, with readings in the low to mid 90s.

Meanwhile, a tropical disturbance in the Atlantic is forecasted to develop into Hurricane Gabrielle over the next 24-36 hours. However, it's important to note that Gabrielle is unlikely to make landfall.

While the warm weather continues, there's a 20% chance for showers or isolated storms each day, with a slight increase by the weekend. The good news is that no cold fronts are expected for the next seven days, ensuring a prolonged spell of warm weather.

Looking further out over the Atlantic, the upcoming period is likely to see the formation of tropical cyclones, including named storms and hurricanes. The 2025 Atlantic hurricane season, which runs from June 1 to November 30, is already showing activity, with Hurricane Erin reaching category 5 strength with winds up to 260 km/h. Additionally, tropical waves in the eastern Atlantic have a high probability of developing into tropical depressions soon.

Two more tropical waves are expected to move off the coast of Africa, potentially becoming named storms. Currently, these waves are thousands of miles from Texas, so their impact on the region remains to be seen.

Stay tuned for updates on this developing weather situation and remember to stay safe and prepared during the hurricane season.
