War veterans in Uralsk granted 5 million tenge financial aid

In celebration of Victory Day, eight esteemed veterans of the Great Patriot War, hailing from Uralsk, were gifted a heartfelt reward of 5 million tenge each, as reported by My City newspaper, Liter.kz reveals.
This generous distribution results in a grand total of 40 million tenge, a testament to the appreciation for these valiant heroes.
Furthermore, other deserving individuals also received financial support:
- 165 individuals who were left disabled following the aftermath of the Chernobyl disaster, each awarded 100,000 tenge;
- 159 military personnel who served on the Tajik-Afghan border, each receiving a similar amount;
- 189 participants in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, each granted 100,000 tenge;
- 101 citizens left disabled due to other radioactive disasters, each receiving 100,000 tenge;
- 349 people who participated in military actions in Afghanistan and became disabled, each receiving 80,000 tenge;
- 982 laborers in the rear, each awarded a sincere 50,000 tenge.
Alongside monetary gifts, WWII veterans can look forward to receiving gift baskets, heartfelt greeting letters, and the jubilee medals "80 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War", to be delivered and presented by special groups in the districts.
As of January 20, 2025, Kazakhstan plays home to 120 Great Patriotic War veterans and 42,545 citizens who played an instrumental role in securing victory.
