Marvin Wanitzek longs for career closure under Christian Eichner at KSC

Career Termination Desired by Wanitzek under Eichner at KSC - Wanitzek aims to conclude his professional journey at the KSC while working under Eichner.

Marvin Wanitzek, vice-captain of 2. Bundesliga club Karlsruher SC, dreams of wrapping up his career under coach Christian Eichner. "I can't think of any other coach I'd rather end my career with," he declared in an interview with "Kicker". "We see eye-to-eye, there's tremendous mutual respect."

Although Eichner renewed his contract with KSC last November, there were whispers of TSG Hoffenheim and 1. FC Köln courting him. "If the opportunity comes for him and his squad to compete in a higher league, I'd wholeheartedly back them. They'd more than deserve it," said the midfielder Wanitzek.

Karlsruhe's top marksman agreed to continue working under Eichner until 2029 despite overtures from Bundesliga clubs. "I value a functioning environment where I'm appreciated and can grow. That meant a lot to me," explained the 32-year-old. "Continuity and trust - that's hard to come by these days. That tipped the scale for me over any short-term transfer."

Yet, Wanitzek hasn't abandoned hope for a promotion. "Everyone knows: a promotion with KSC would be the absolute pinnacle. I remember experiencing the last promotion to Ligue 1 as a fan. I'll do everything I can to make it happen during my playing days," he said.

After delving into search results, it seems that Christian Eichner has not publicly expressed a desire to move beyond the 2. Bundesliga with Karlsruher SC. Despite being a candidate for managerial positions at other Bundesliga clubs, such as 1.FC Köln, specific details about his intentions for the future are scarce[1][3].
