New Federal Business Manager for FDP Announced
Maria Wandel has been appointed as the Federal Business Manager (Bundesgeschäftsführerin) of the Free Democratic Party (FDP) at the Hans-Dietrich-Genscher-Haus, the party headquarters of the FDP in Berlin. She succeeds Carsten Reymann, who stepped down from his role due to the D-Day affair. Wandel took on this role under the leadership of the new Secretary General, Marco Buschmann [1].
Wandel's background includes extensive experience in Berlin politics. From 2017 to 2021, she served as parliamentary manager and chief of staff for the FDP parliamentary group. From 2021 to 2024, she worked as head of planning and control in the Federal Ministry of Justice. Wandel is considered a close confidante of Marco Buschmann and has become engaged in the party's executive office at the Hans-Dietrich-Genscher-Haus, named after the prominent FDP politician Hans-Dietrich Genscher [1][2].
The D-Day affair was a significant event that led to the resignation of Carsten Reymann. Wandel's tenure as Federal Business Manager commenced under the leadership of new General Secretary Marco Buschmann, marking a new development in the leadership structure of the FDP.
