Star Trek: Titan Comics Unveils 'A Year to the Day That I Saw Myself Die' Anthology

Published: December 10, 2024

Explorer, the Star Trek anthology publication from Titan Comics, has unveiled its latest deluxe collectors' edition: 'A Year to the Day That I Saw Myself Die and Other Stories.' This fully-illustrated book brings together fourteen stories from across the Star Trek universe, including tales from The Original Series, The Next Generation, Voyager, Deep Space Nine, Discovery, The Animated Series, and Picard.

For the first time, characters from these popular series will collide in a single collection. The anthology, now available on Amazon, Forbidden Planet, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, and other booksellers, features an adventure following the aftermath of The Wrath of Khan, co-written by Walter Koenig himself, a trip into Vulcan history, and stories starring Picard's Jack Crusher, Annika Hansen/Seven of Nine, and Captain Liam Shaw.

An exclusive excerpt from "Chekov's Challenge," a short story by Walter Koenig and Chris McAuley, graces the pages of the anthology. Fans can also revisit the previous excerpt, "The Trouble with Jones," from the release.

The events in "Chekov's Challenge" take place on the USS Enterprise as it limps towards Earth Spacedock after being severely damaged. Commander Pavel Chekov is haunted by memories of Khan Noonien Singh's return and the sacrifice of Mr. Spock. His past actions under the influence of a Ceti Eel continue to plague him, and he struggles to recapture the excitement he once felt in Starfleet's mission.

As the Enterprise approaches, a lone Orion pirate ship, the notorious Corsair's Revenge, emerges from a gaseous nebula. The pirate ship quickly targets the Federation vessel with epsilon disruptor blasts, compromising shield integrity and rendering weapons systems inoperable. Kirk, Chekov, and the rest of the crew must navigate this dangerous situation to ensure the Enterprise's survival.

The anthology, 'A Year to the Day That I Saw Myself Die and Other Stories,' offers a unique opportunity for fans to explore various corners of the Star Trek universe and enjoy never-before-seen tales featuring familiar characters. Pick up your copy today to follow Chekov and the crew of the Enterprise as they face the challenges posed by the Corsair's Revenge.
