Vought Rising: Prequel Show Begins Production, Cecily Strong Joins Cast
Vought Rising, a prequel to the hit series The Boys, has begun production. Set in the 1950s, it will explore the origins of Vought and the early adventures of Soldier Boy. The show is expected to premiere ahead of The Boys' fifth and final season next year.
Cecily Strong, known for Saturday Night Live and Schmigadoon!, has joined the cast as a series regular. She will be joined by Annie Shapero, who will play Alysanne Blackwood in the upcoming third season of House of the Dragon. Mark Pellegrino, known for American Rust, Supernatural, and Dexter, will also appear in recurring roles.
The cast is led by Jensen Ackles, reprising his role as Soldier Boy, and Aya Cash. They will be joined by Mason Dye, Will Hochman, KiKi Layne, Jordan Myrie, Nicolo Pasetti, Elizabeth Posey, Brian J. Smith, and Ricky Stafferi as series regulars. Eric Johnson, known for Fifty Shades and The Alienist, will also appear in recurring roles.
Vought Rising promises to delve into the past of the Vought universe, with a talented cast bringing the 1950s to life. Fans of The Boys can look forward to more action and intrigue before the final season of the main series.
