Runoff Election for County Commissioner: All You Need to Know

On September 28, a runoff election will take place for the County Commissioner position in our district. Here's what you need to know about voting in this election.

The voting office for the runoff election will reopen on September 17 and will be open on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Thursdays until 6:00 PM, and Fridays from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM. On September 26, the office will be open before the election from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

To vote, you will need a personal ID, and ideally, you should bring along your voting notification. An elevator is available for those with disabilities at the voting office, which is located on the first floor of the civic center at Wittenberger Straße 21, room S4.

The runoff election will be between the two candidates with the highest votes from the first round: Bodo Klimpel (CDU) with 39.8% and Dr. Karsten Schneider (SPD) with 36.3% from the Recklinghausen district.
