Voters Across Four U.S. Regions Demand Economic Change, Reject Trump

In a series of recent polls, voters across California, Virginia, New Jersey, and New York City have expressed their views on various issues, with a common thread of discontent and concern for the economy. California voters overwhelmingly support non-partisan redistricting, while voters in all four regions disapprove of Trump's performance. Economic issues, including the cost of living and state economic conditions, dominate voter concerns.

California voters have spoken clearly on redistricting, with an overwhelming majority favouring a non-partisan commission to draw congressional district lines. This comes as no surprise, given that more than 80% find the cost of living unaffordable, making the economy the top issue facing the state. In Proposition 50, voters view it as a response to Republican-led redistricting in other states rather than the best way to draw districts.

In Virginia, voters feel the impact of federal government cuts, with most saying it has affected their family's finances. Both Virginia and New Jersey voters prioritise the economy and taxes as top issues. In New York City, voters focus on the cost of living. This economic pessimism is reflected in voters' anti-incumbent sentiments, a year after Trump's re-election.

Voters in all four regions disapprove of Trump's performance, with strong disapproval outpacing strong approval. In the Virginia governor election, Democrats generally have strong support due to alignment with progressive values. However, specific 2025 election data was not found. In New York City's mayoral race, nearly 90% of Zohran Mamdani's supporters vote to support him, while Curtis Sliwa's voters are more likely to vote against other candidates.

Voters across California, Virginia, New Jersey, and New York City share common concerns, with the economy and cost of living dominating their worries. They express dissatisfaction with Trump's performance and hold anti-incumbent sentiments. California voters have made their stance clear on redistricting, favouring a non-partisan approach. As elections approach, these issues are likely to influence voters' decisions.
