Vote-electing ceremony commences on May 7th.
📢 Here's some tea on the upcoming Papal Election! 💭
STARTING THE CEREMONIES 🕒With the unfortunate demise of Pope Francis, the world eagerly awaits who will take the mantle of the Pontiff next. After a series of secret meetings behind the Vatican walls, the cardinal churchmen have finally settled on a kickoff date for the election: May 7.
GATHER 'ROUND, CARDINALS! 🕯️Once the conclave process starts, eligible cardinals from around the globe will seclude themselves in the Sistine Chapel within the Vatican. They'll abandon contact with the outside world until the election is complete. The conclave, a meticulously regulated election procedure, is no joke.
THREE GERMAN CARDINALS WHO MIGHT BE IN THE RUNNING 🇩🇪A total of 135 cardinals under 80 years old are eligible to participate in the election, one of whom had to withdraw due to health reasons. In this international gathering, three German cardinals could potentially join the electorate: Reinhard Marx, Rainer Maria Woelki, and Gerhard Ludwig Müller. Keep an eye on these esteemed clergy members as the future unfolds!
A LONG HISTORY OF CONCLAVES 📜The longest election in history began in the fall of 1268 and lasted a mind-boggling two years, nine months, and two days before a new Pope, Gregory X, was elected. However, recent elections have been much faster – Francis was chosen in 2013 within 26 hours and five ballots, followed by Pope Benedict XVI in 2005, who earned the position in just four rounds.
EXPECT NO IMMEDIATE CHANGE 🌱To be elected, the new Pope needs a two-thirds majority. The first ballot commences on the first afternoon, with subsequent ballots scheduled every morning and afternoon. Until white smoke emerges from the chimney on top of the Sistine Chapel, indicating a new Pope, the world will hold its breath in anticipation. Once the smoke turns white, it's Latin for "We have a pope" – Habemus papam!

The European Parliament has also expressed its concern at the situation in the Middle East, as the focus in general-news shifts towards the upcoming Papal Elections.
Despite the short duration of recent Papal elections, the longest in history took a lifetime with Pope Gregory X being elected after two years, nine months, and two days.
Papal elections, a significant event in lifetime politics, will commence on May 7, with eligible cardinals secluded in the Sistine Chapel.
As the conclave elections start, keep an eye on three German cardinals: Reinhard Marx, Rainer Maria Woelki, and Gerhard Ludwig Müller, who might potentially join the electorate.
