Volunteers regarded with appreciation in Moers by KSB Wesel
The Moers City Sports Association recently hosted an awards ceremony to honour a group of dedicated volunteers who have made significant contributions to sports in the city. The event, which took place at the premises of the Moers City Sports Association, was attended by CBS Chairman Gustav Hensel and Youth Sports Chairman Pascal Smit.
Naomie Schulte Vennbur (VfL 08 Repelen) was one of the recipients of the "Volunteer" award. Naomie supports exercise leaders in gymnastics, acts as a judge, and regularly participates in further training, such as first aid and prevention of sexualized violence. Her commitment to the sport is evident in her tireless efforts to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for young gymnasts.
Wilfried Schwake (SAG Moers) received the "Young Volunteer" award. Wilfried is a co-founder and long-standing 2nd chairman of the Sports Badge Community Moers, and is also a CBS examiner, organizer of endurance tests, manager of the club's homepage, and ensures a lively presence. His dedication to the community and the sport is commendable, and his efforts have not gone unnoticed.
Ingrid Pescher (TV Vennikel 1912) was another honouree who has been actively involved in the club for over 30 years, holding various positions, including business manager responsible for 1,200 members, and organizing events like Easter fires, summer festivals, and St. Martin's Day celebrations. Her dedication to the club and the community is evident in her tireless efforts to ensure the success and growth of the club.
Uwe Remek (Schachfreunde Moers) was also recognised for his work in youth work, referee activities, and as a long-standing game leader in the club and district, shaping chess sports in Moers. His efforts have not gone unnoticed, and his commitment to the sport is evident in his dedication to nurturing young talent.
Sarah Lindemann and Dinah Lindemann (TV Utfort-Eick) have shaped trampoline sports in Moers for over three decades, achieving sporting success at the state level and promoting values such as team spirit and fairness. Their commitment to the sport and their dedication to nurturing young talent is commendable.
Jan Delkeskamp was another honouree who has stood out in recent years for his efforts in swimming sports in Moers. His dedication to the sport is evident in his tireless efforts to ensure the success and growth of the club.
Mia Becker (VfL 08 Repelen) was recognised for her work as a gymnast herself, as a helper and leader of gymnastics groups for years, and as the leader of a sports AG at her school. Her pedagogical skills and her commitment to the sport are evident in her dedication to nurturing young talent.
Leon Jochems (DLRG OG Moers-Rheinkamp) was also honoured for his work in swimming lessons, water rescue service, and youth leisure activities. His efforts to promote young talent and ensure safety on and in the water are commendable.
The event was concluded by Gustav Hensel, who emphasised that the honourees' commitment makes the difference in sports in Moers, day by day, year by year. He also emphasised that without volunteers, sports clubs would not be conceivable. The awards aim to make sports alive by recognising volunteers.
The awards are given annually in all 13 municipalities of the district, and this year's event was supported by Sparkasse am Niederrhein and Niederrhein-Westfälische Braumanufaktur GmbH from Hamminkeln. The awards ceremony was a celebration of the hard work and dedication of these local heroes, and a reminder of the importance of volunteerism in sports.
