New Command Vehicles Delivered to Volunteer Fire Department of Mechernich

After a long wait, the Volunteer Fire Department of Mechernich received three new command vehicles on July 29, 2025. The delivery, which was initially scheduled for an earlier date, was delayed due to various circumstances, including delivery issues, staff shortages, and other unspecified reasons.

The vehicles, designated as ELW1, were transported from the manufacturer's location in Langerwehe to Mechernich. The vehicle body manufacturer, Reinartz, is based in Langerwehe.

The delivery was a significant upgrade for the Volunteer Fire Department of Mechernich, which serves the cities of Bleibuir, Kommern, and Obergartzem. The department operates multiple stations across these cities, and eleven firefighters from the stations in Bleibuir, Kommern, and Obergartzem, along with representatives of the fire command, were present for the delivery.

Several companies contributed to the completion of the vehicles. MAN Frechen, PTS Group GmbH Dormagen, Schäfer Metallbau Obergartzem, BNS Berners-Nutzfahrzeug-Service GmbH, Fahrzeugtechnik Glasmacher GmbH Bergheim, and Reinartz Fahrzeugbau in Langerwehe were all involved in the project.

For further questions, Alexander Kloster can be contacted at [email protected]. The person responsible for the Volunteer Fire Department Mechernich who can provide information about the new command vehicles is not publicly specified.

Once the vehicles arrived in Mechernich, they were taken to the local stations (Bleibuir, Kommern, Obergartzem) for service. They have now been put into service as command vehicles at these stations.

The delivery of these vehicles marks a significant milestone for the Volunteer Fire Department of Mechernich, enhancing their ability to respond effectively to emergencies in the region.
