Volkstedt's Bizarre Goat Escape Leads Busy Day for Authorities
Volkstedt's B 180 was recently the scene of an unusual incident involving escaped goats, while several other incidents across the region have kept local authorities busy.
Firefighters swiftly extinguished a blaze in an apartments on the Magistrale, ensuring no injuries. Meanwhile, in Eisleben, unknown thieves targeted a parked car, making off with its catalyst. This isn't the first such incident, police confirmed.
In the Beidersee district, three lawn tractors were stolen from a company, but police have secured traces for investigation. A 78-year-old driver's medical issue led to a traffic accident in Heideallee, with the driver hospitalised.
Last September, police made the final arrest in the case of stolen lawnmower wheels in Beidersee. More recently, an empty apartments for rent in Merseburg was targeted, with a sofa set set alight. Firefighters arrived promptly to extinguish the flames.
A politically motivated symbol was applied to the pavement of a supermarket parking lot in Hettstedt. In Trothaer Street, tools were stolen from a handicraft company, causing approximately 3,000 euros in damage.
An attempted scam via WhatsApp was foiled when a victim suspected the ruse and refused to transfer 3,970 euros. Lastly, unknown perpetrators caused over 8,000 euros in property damage when they set fire to mineral wool on a construction site in Ernst-von-Harnack-Straße.
Authorities are investigating several incidents, including the theft of catalysts, lawn tractors, tools, and an attempted scam. Meanwhile, the search continues for the missing goat in Volkstedt, and the cause of the fires in Merseburg and on the construction site is still unknown.
