Vodafone Women's Interprovincial Championship: Round 2 Preview

The Vodafone Women's Interprovincial series continues on August 16th, with two highly anticipated matches scheduled.

In the first game, Leinster, the defending champions, face Munster at Energia Park, with kick-off set for 2.30pm. This match is a rematch of last year's championship final, and both teams have started the series with wins in Round 1.

Munster have made three changes to their starting 15 for this game. Ennis' Orna Moynihan earns her first start on the right wing, while Aoife Fleming starts in the front row, making her provincial debut. Clodagh O'Halloran comes in on the flank, and Ireland's Deirbhile Nic a Bháird returns to the Munster bench.

Chisom Ugweru, sister of Clare footballer Ikem Ugweru, scored a hat-trick for Munster in their previous game, and will be a key player to watch.

Leinster's starting lineup for this game includes Vicky Elmes Kinlan and Ellie O'Sullivan-Sexton. They had a close game against Ulster in their last match, winning 37-21.

In the second game of the day, Connacht take on Ulster at Dexcom Stadium, with kick-off at 4.15pm. Ulster have shuffled the deck and gone for a 6:2 bench split for this game.

Moya Hill and Ava Fannin start in the pack for Ulster, while Hannah Wilson, Alma Atagamen, and Heidi Lyons are potential debutants on Leinster's bench.

Last week, Leinster and Munster both started their campaigns with wins, albeit in different styles. Munster demonstrated clinical ball handling and maturity to secure a victory away from home against Leinster, with a score of 33-22.

Both games can be watched on TG4's YouTube channel, and match reports will be available post-game on RTE Sport Online and the RTE News app.
