Vladivostok's selected city squares set for transformation by year-end
Vibrant Gatherings and Progressive Improvements in Vladivostok
Get ready for transformations! While citizens of Vladivostok cast their votes for upcoming development projects, the three winning parks from last year's "Infrastructure for Life" national project are under construction.
The revamp of Kutuzov Park is gaining momentum. Workers have prepared the site for an up-and-coming kids' playground, with a new staircase already in place. The pedestrian infrastructure updates continue; upcoming pathways are marked out, with construction set to commence soon. Progress is being made in the lower part of Kutuzov Park, focusing on creating pedestrian pathways near the Kutuzov monument.
The area around houses 96-98 on Nekrasovskaya Street is in the process of being cleared of old cobblestones. Workers are actively working on demolition, but, as pointed out by Mayor Konstantin Shestakov, speed is of the essence to meet the deadline.
Shestakov also checked up on the improvement works in the park near the Energy College on Borisenko, 102. Progress here is satisfactory, with workers and equipment readying the grounds for future pedestrian pathways between the college and Borisenko and Sakhalin streets, while network installation is ongoing. A children's playground and sports activity area will be built near Borisenko, 102, as per the locals' wishes.
Voting for Vladivostok territories to be renovated by the "Infrastructure for Life" project in 2026 is now open. Residents can make their choices until June 12. With over 24,000 participants so far, the top contenders include the alley on Kirillov Street 5-9, the alley on Ivanovskaya Street 3-19, and the square in the Polarny area, 1. Apart from these infrastructure initiatives, Vladivostok has been a hive of activities. The main fountain of the city glowed with heroes' portraits, as the "Green Onion Festival on Poromvat Farm" took place in South Korea. The "Rostelecom" exhibition commemorated the 80th anniversary of Victory, while online registration continued for the Immortal Regiment march in Primorye.
