Vladivostok Marathon celebrates 10 years with 6,000 runners and scenic routes
The 10th anniversary Galaxy Vladivostok Marathon (0+) will take place in Russia's Far Eastern capital on September 26. The event not only brings athletes together but also fosters a spirit of unity and camaraderie among participants. This year, organizers expect around 6,000 runners to take part.
Every year, the marathon attracts a large number of running enthusiasts and fitness advocates from across Russia. As a major sporting event in the Far East, it helps develop tourism infrastructure and promotes Vladivostok as a destination.
The race is organized by the RunDnsRun running club, with the DNS Group of Companies serving as the general partner. The marathon route and event have been approved and supported by the Primorsky Krai government and the Vladivostok city administration.
The anniversary marathon will start and finish at Vladivostok's Central Square, with the traditional route passing through the city's iconic landmarks, including the bridges to Russky Island and across the Golden Horn Bay. These structures are renowned for their stunning architecture and grandeur. Only once a year, during the Vladivostok International Marathon, do participants get the chance to run across these bridges and take in breathtaking views of the sea and the city.
This year, runners can choose from distances of 3 km, 7 km, 10 km, 21.1 km, 28 km, and 42.2 km. Children will have a 1 km race, and there will also be 500 m events for Paralympic athletes.
Every finisher will receive a commemorative medal, which can be engraved with their race time. Organizers note that additional activities will be prepared for the event's anniversary celebration.
As stated on the marathon's official website, participants must complete advance registration to take part.
