Vladivostok braces for weekend snowstorm and icy road hazards
Vladivostok is bracing for heavy snowfall and possible ice this weekend. Authorities have warned residents and visitors to take extra care while travelling on the city’s roads. Road maintenance crews are on high alert ahead of the expected wintry conditions.
Snow is forecast to begin at 6:00 PM on Saturday, December 13, continuing until 4:00–6:00 AM on Sunday, December 14. Up to 4 cm of snow may accumulate, raising concerns about icy patches on roads. The Specialized Road Service (SGS), led by Alexander Viktorovich Mikhailov, has prepared 166 pieces of equipment and mobilised 227 workers to clear snow and prevent hazards.
With snow and potential ice expected, Vladivostok’s road teams will work through the night to keep routes safe. Drivers and pedestrians are advised to stay vigilant and use official channels to report hazards. The city’s response efforts will remain active until conditions improve.
