Vladivostok Airport's 2025 boom: More passengers, shrinking profits

Vladivostok International Airport saw mixed financial results in 2025 despite a rise in passenger numbers. The airport's net profit dropped sharply, while revenue hit a new high. Growth in international flights stood out as a key trend during the year. The airport handled 3.261 million passengers in 2025, a 10% increase from 2024. Its passenger terminal, designed for 3.5 million travellers annually, operated near capacity. International flights alone carried 717,000 passengers, up 1.6 times from the previous year.

Revenue reached a record 2.3287 billion rubles ($24.6 million), with 81%—or 1.89 billion rubles—coming from aviation operations. However, operating costs jumped by 24%, cutting into profits. Net profit fell to 124.5 million rubles ($1.3 million), less than half of 2024's figure.

The airport's route network covers over 40 destinations, served by more than 20 airlines. Yet international connections remain limited, with only Azur Air (seasonal charters to Thailand) and China Southern Airlines (flights to China) operating. No new routes were added since 2024.

Sochi International Airport JSC holds a majority stake of 62.0752% in Vladivostok Airport, while Levanterra LLC owns 17.3854% of the shares. Vladivostok Airport's 2025 performance shows strong passenger growth but financial pressure from rising costs. The increase in international travellers highlights demand, though route expansion has stalled. With revenue at a record high, the airport's focus may shift to managing expenses and attracting new carriers.
