Hoffenheim extends contract with key player Coufal - Vladimír Coufal's Bundesliga resurgence fuels Hoffenheim's top-three charge

Vladimír Coufal has swiftly become one of TSG Hoffenheim's most crucial players in his initial Bundesliga season. The Czech defender, who joined last August, has impressed with his consistency and attacking contributions. His robust performances have already earned him a contract extension after merely six months at the club.

Coufal arrived at Hoffenheim following a four-year spell at West Ham United, where he made 180 appearances. While at West Ham, his contributions were limited—recording no goals and only a handful of assists across multiple seasons. He also faced competition, eventually being replaced by Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

At Hoffenheim, however, his impact has been immediate. In just 22 league matches this season, he has rarely been substituted, providing stability on the right flank. His attacking output has surged, with six assists in his last six appearances, including two in a 3-0 win over Freiburg. This form has made him the team's top assist provider and a key starter.

Beyond club football, Coufal brings experience from 59 international caps with the Czech national team. His leadership and reliability have not gone unnoticed, with Hoffenheim's sporting director highlighting his influence both on and off the pitch. Fans have also taken to him quickly, making him a popular figure since his arrival.

Currently, Hoffenheim sits third in the Bundesliga, with Coufal's performances playing a major role in their strong position.

Coufal's rapid improvement at Hoffenheim marks a career resurgence after his time in the Premier League. His defensive solidity and attacking threat have reinforced the team's push for a top-table finish. With a new contract already secured, he looks set to remain a central figure for the club in the seasons ahead.
